*~Our Wedding~*

A destination wedding for us, obviously. We chose Lagen El Nido in Palawan. A very intimate wedding with six guests.

We wanted the day to be memorable, stress-free and thoroughly enjoyable. It turned out to be just that – it was perfect.

From London, it only took 3 flights and 2 boat transfers to get to Lagen resort. The resort was on one of the many islands in Palawan, surrounded by a lush forest and imposing rocks. We stayed in a water cottage with a stunning view over the shallow lagoon.

The day before our wedding ceremony, the resort arranged an island hopping and cave exploration boat trip for us and our guests.

We met with our photographer, Guj, in the morning of our wedding day, then we went for a couples massageJ After lunch, we started to get ready for the ceremony…

Then we made our way to the boat to take us to the private beach for the ceremony.

Guests were sent back to the resort while Guj took us for some photos at a sand bar, Pinagbuyutan Island and a sunset cruise.

The lighting was best-case scenario, Guj said.

The sky turned into a beautiful hue of glowing amber as we made our way back to the private beach for the wedding dinner.

Before our guests arrived, we enjoyed our private first dance.

Dad gave a tremendously emotional speech that pulled everyone’s heartstrings. This man made me who I am. In his eyes I can do no wrong, even when I am blatantly wrong, he would blindly devote and support me, back me up and take my side unconditionally. Then be there to protect and pick me up when things crumble. No hurdles are too high, no challenges too difficult. There is nothing my father wouldn’t give for us.

We were pulled away to try the starry night shot mid-dinner. The staff had turned all the lights off on the island to give us utter darkness. Guj explained he hadn’t been able to pull one since last year, because he needed i) a clear sky ii) moonless sky iii) low-enough tide. We ticked all three boxes on the night.
